In April of 2016, art insurance company Hiscox released its fourth annual report detailing the state of the online art trade. Their findings show the general cooling of the global art market has not affected online sales - in fact, the global online art market is exploding! In the last year, online sales jumped 24% to a high of $3.27 billion, online marketplaces are overtaking online auctions as the preferred method of purchasing art, and existing online art buyers are buying more. So you can see, online art buyers are out there. But in a complicated online world, how do you find them? There are ways to succeed! As with almost anything, you need a strategy...and I have laid mine out below.
